Racing La Trinité Cowes & Cowes Dinard

Racing La Trinité – Cowes on board Libertalia, our crewed Volvo 60, but also the Cowes – Dinard race to return to France. Join the team as a crew member on a boat designed and built to race in the Volvo Ocean Race 2001-02, the crewed round the world race.

Racing La Trinité Cowes & Cowes Dinard

Organised by the Société Nautique de La Trinité-sur-Mer, La Trinité-Cowes race is open to all classes admitted by the Royal Ocean Racing Club to then compete in the Cowes-Dinard race organised jointly with the Yacht Club de Dinard. Open to IRC, Class40 and other Multi, they are raced in double-handed and crewed.

• The Trinité – Cowes is a 350 nautical miles event that links the two iconic ocean racing ports via the Raz de Sein, the Chenal du Four, the Channel crossing and the Solent.

• The Cowes – Dinard is a long 150 mile Channel sprint that passes to the west of the Channel Islands, including the Casquets, the Hanois Lighthouse on Guernsey and the Minquiers.

Duration is about 5 days (from Lorient) for the race La Trinité – Cowes. Also 5 days for Cowes – Dinard race and back to Lorient our home port. If you participate to both races, allow about 11 days, including a stopover in Cowes. It is possible to disembark in Dinard after race is over.

Note that these two races are qualifiers for the Rolex Fastnet Race 2023 in which Libertalia is participating.

Libertalia, a crewed round-the-world racing yacht

Libertalia is a Volvo 60. This racing yacht is an extreme boat, a Formula 1 of the seas with very spartan comfort. This demanding and powerful boat is lined up for offshore races, rated in IRC0. We offer you the opportunity to race La Trinité-Cowes and/or the Cowes-Dinard as part of an amateur crew, supervised by four professional sailors (skipper Captain 200 Sail, first mate, navigator, watch leader). Whatever your level, the spirit of competition is essential to take part in such events. The aim is to sail well and experience these fabulous crewed races from the inside!
