Offshore sailing course<\/strong> on 10 and 14 days in the Canry Islands and Azores, 28 days for crossing the Atlantic. The objective is to gain enough confidence to consider the role of shift leader, or skipper, through the experience of offshore navigation.<\/p>\n

With a deep-sea sailing course<\/strong> in a sailing school, you access navigation management<\/strong> in busy and non-busy areas, in 24-hour mode, with the inherent decisions and the responsibility of the shifts, in consultation with the skipper.<\/p>\n

Safety, navigation, maneuvers, board management, equipment\u2026<\/span><\/h2>\n

According to the planned offshore sailing<\/strong> plan, navigation, weather, routing, definition of waypoints and the route depending on the destination and the weather. It is also maneuvers of sails at all speeds, the rotation of the crew at the positions of maneuvers. With the implementation of the shift system<\/strong>, it is the apprenticeship of the shift watch role, under the responsibility of the professional crew (Captain 200 Sailing, State Certificate).<\/p>\n

Our crewed 21m monohulls were specially built to take part in the BT Global Challenge<\/strong>, the crewed world tour against the prevailing winds. Their cutter rigging gives power to the front. Sailboats racing marine, efficient and able to spread in the heavy weather.<\/p>\n

Offshore sailing in the Atlantic<\/span><\/h2>\n

The Canary Islands<\/strong> and the Azores<\/strong> are islands distant from some 1,500 nautical miles from Brittany. These destinations are accessible all year round. Our tall ships sail there every year during their crossing of the Atlantic.<\/p>\n

From Lorient to Sainte Lucia in the Caribbean, via the Canaries, about 3,500 miles separate the two lands. We usually enter the ARC – Atlantic Rally for Cruisers<\/strong> – in November. Whether on the tradewind route or in the West \/ East return direction, crossing the Atlantic Ocean<\/strong> remains an adventure even if it has become more popular in recent years.<\/p>\n

The return transatlantic is usually from Saint-Martin with an arrival in Lorient, via the Azores. A more technical navigation because it requires more maneuvers and the weather is more interesting by staying on the edge of the depressions. The fauna encountered offshore in the North Atlantic is also more attractive (whales, dolphins\u2026).<\/p>\n

The feat of a life<\/strong> for some, an initiatory journey<\/strong> for others, is what we propose to share, for a duration of about 28 days.<\/p>\n
