Departing from and arriving at La Trinité-sur-Mer via Western Sein*\, Belle Île and Île d’Yeu.\n* Ar-Men lighthouse\, hence the name of the race \nOrganised by the Société Nautique de La Trinité-sur-Mer (SNT)\, the Armen Race is a not-to-be-missed race on the Atlantic seaboard. This twelfth edition of the biggest ocean race in France is an opportunity for enlightened amateurs to sail alongside professionals on a course that may hold some surprises\, but always in a friendly atmosphere. In 2022\, 227 crews\, or 828 racers\, took the start of one of the three courses along the western coast: the Nuit de l’Armen (131 miles)\, the Armen Race (310 miles) or the Armen Ultim (370 miles). \nCrew member on the offshore Armen Race\nWe’re offering you the chance to crew Libertalia\, a 19.50m racing monohull built for the Volvo Ocean Race. Supervised by four professional sailors (skipper Captain 200 Sail\, second-in-command\, navigator\, number 1)\, the spirit of competition is essential to take part as a crew member in such an event\, whatever your level. This is your chance to take on the fleet in ‘offshore’ mode and to experience some extraordinary moments together as a crew member. \nYou’ll be on board for around 5 days. You will embark at Lorient La Base to sail to La Trinité-sur-Mer\, where the Armen Race will start. The delivery trip gives the crew a chance to get to know each other\, get to grips with the boat and assess each other’s skill levels. Embark as a “high-flying” crew member on this yacht designed and built to race the Volvo Ocean Race 2001-02.\nRacing the Rolex Fastnet Race 2025 aboard a VOR 60 in IRC 0\nOrganized by the Royal Ocean Racing Club\, one of the most prestigious yacht clubs on the planet\, the Rolex Fastnet Race is one of the biggest ocean races. An event that takes place once every two years\, in odd-numbered years\, departing from Cowes on the Isle of Wight. Since 2021 edition\, the finish is judged in Cherbourg and no longer in Plymouth as in all previous editions.\n\nMore than 400 sailboats from 9 to 30 meters will line up in July 2025 on the line of the Royal Yacht Squadron. A sumptuous exit of the Solent\, most often tacking to reach the Needles. The regatta is sensational and tactical along the English coast before reaching the Archipelago of Scilly. Then it is the crossing of the Irish Sea to roll up the impressive rock of the Fastnet planted with its lighthouse. Then follows the descent on the Scilly to go up the Channel to Cherbourg.\nThe VOR 60\, a crewed round-the-world racing sailboat\nThis racing sailboat is an extreme boat\, a Formula 1 of the seas with very spartan comfort. This demanding and powerful boat is aligned with the offshore racing starts\, rated in IRC 0. We invite you to embark as a teammate on the Fastnet 2025 race as part of an amateur crew to cover some 695 nautical miles of racing\, supervised by five professional sailors (skipper\, Captain 200 Sailing\, first mate\, navigator). Whatever your level\, a competitive spirit is essential to enter such an event. Even if we could aim for the podium in the class\, it is above all about sailing well and experiencing this grandiose race from the inside!\nThe duration of boarding is about 11 days\, including the qualification of 300 nautical miles from Lorient and the return delivery after the race to Lorient. The race starts from Cowes on the Isle of Wight and ends in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin.\nNote that the outbound delivery from Lorient to Cowes will serve as a qualifying route for the crew and the boat\, after agreement from the RORC. DESCRIPTION:Start of the Ocean Globe Race… set sail from Lorient for Southampton in the UK to watch the start of the Ocean Globe Race. \nHeading to the start of the Ocean Globe Race ex Whitbread\nTo mark the fiftieth anniversary of the Whitbread\, the first crewed round-the-world race created in 1973\, 14 crews are taking part in the Ocean Globe Race. This retro event is in the spirit of the Whitbread: a 27\,000 nautical mile course around the world with four legs\, via the southern seas and the three capes. The start will be from Southampton on 10 September 2023. \nCome aboard to watch the start of the crewed round-the-world race\nYou will board one of our 21m crewed monohulls. This sailing course is designed for sailors with previous experience who want to progress as a crew member or watch leader. The emphasis is on anticipation\, decision-making and taking responsibility for watches\, in consultation with the skipper and his first mate. The aim is to master night navigation\, onboard safety\, manoeuvres\, onboard management\, equipment and onboard crew. \nThe sailing program starts in Lorient La Base (the former submarine base where the Cité de la Voile Eric Tabarly is also located). You will set sail heading to Southampton. Located on the south coast of the United Kingdom\, opposite the Isle of Wight\, there are around 300 nautical miles to cover from Lorient. \nDepending on the weather conditions\, the sailing course goes through the Raz de Sein and the Chenal du Four\, with a crossing of the English Channel.
